Concentrated Disorientation within a Facadeless Fo

Once again I've decided to immerse myself into the vivid world of DA community, maybe with less vigor as before - for now i concentrate my time more on my own work versus on the works of others. But that doesn't change the fact that I'll be on the lookout for some amazing masterpieces from my DevWatch list =] I also noticed a recurring trend, I come back to DA anytime my school year starts...I guess this is somewhat of a mental preparation for the avalanche of creative demand that will fall upon my shoulders in the coming months, which leads me to draw a conclusion that DA acts as a sort of a well of inspiration which I tap after being disconnected with the world of the Arts for any long period of time.

Got accepted and already registered for classes at Columbia College of Chicago. Current major is Photography with a possible minor in Graphic Design...and I also want to study cinematography, but there is just so much one can do, right? This week went over to Chicago for 4 days on my orientation. To say the least, i wasn't really "oriented" and the 9 hours of sitting and listening to lectures pretty much drove me crazy. But the trip was exciting by itself, checked out a lot of art museums and just saw the city as I never did before.

I'll be in the process of uploading some of my most recent works onto here, nothing that spectacular, more as a testament to the fact that "I've done something" this summer and not merely sat around starring into the tube or party my brains out =]

Enjoy!

A journal entry...for once? Haha, my last entry was in September of 07 - ridiculous!

-Concerning life updates...Got accepted into Columbia College of Chicago, now just waiting for my housing info which will Hopefully come in my mail sometime soon =)
-Just finished my "comedy" movie on which i've worked for the past month with my partner in crime, Jesse D. - sometime soon will post up a youtube link for your enjoyment =) Today its being presented at Freestyle Academy's exhibition, sweeet! Haha, the sad thing is - we had a panel of 4 teachers plus the school district's superintendent watch our film trying to come up with a decision how appropriate it is for an exhibition. Talk about censorship =P
-Been doing a lot more of commercial graphic design work - business cards, websites, flyers, posters, etc. Which takes up a fair share of my time, i'll definitively post up some of those works up here when i get around to it =]
- Partaking in the Olympiad of the Arts, art competition, hoping to win some mullah! Got two of my photos into the Mainstreet Cafe art show, have the reception this Saturday. Also submitting some of my works into the Adobe Art competition, don't have too much hopes about that though. So, keeping myself busy =)
-Been doing a lot less photography lately, kind of bumped out about that, just running short on time and finding it extremely hard to transport myself to photogenic locations =P

Added 2Terabytes to my storage mecca, filling them up as we speak =P

Anyhow, thats mostly it =)
Check out and enjoy my gallery!

Just to think of it, the last time i wrote a journal entry was 7 months ago...

Same old stuff really. Home, school, sleep - rinse and repeat.

Looking back on the work that i did about a year ago i can confidently say that the quality of my photowork is slowly rising, its crawling its way up a steep and never ending ladder =)

anyhow, since i have no wise or meaningful things to say at the moment...Enjoy my gallery! :)

So here i am. Finally back home after my week-long escape to East Coast. Not only have i had a time of my life with a bunch of amazing folks but i also toured some wonderful colleges. Those are; CVA in St. Paul, Monserat nearby Boston, Columbia College Chicago, Art Institute of Boston, and Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. This whole past week i spent figuring out what i really want to do in my post-highschool life, and i think i've come to a reasonable conclusion. Firstly, i want to be thrown into a mixer of creative minds and personalities, so being in a big city iz a must. Also, i want to sacrifice 3/4 years of my life to a program which is more technology minded, versus liberal arts. What i want to express through my "artwork" is my own matter, all i need is the tools and knowledge of how to do it. This attitude is pretty much the underlying foundation of Brooks, but its high cost and the location make it a very unlikely choice. I'd love to be in a school which offers a wide range of professions, although i am currently looking at photography as something i would love to do long-term, i'd like to explore the world of cinematography at the same time. And last but not least, it gots to be affordable ;) I am not picky, i swear. :P So, atm the most ideal version is getting my BA in Columbia and than (hopefully) Masters at Brooks.

On the much brighter note (since talking about a possible future tends to be a tad bit depressing) I've taken many a photo during the trip :) Not as many as i would loved too, since freezing my fingers on the shutter button in a 30 degree weather didnt seem like a very healthy way to go about it. =D

p.S. February 25th morning was remarkable and amazing.

living every single moment to the beat of the clock...
no time to stop - the show must go on. tick-tock.

I would like to apologize to everyone i watch, due to my extreme busy and stressful lifestyle i don't spend as much time on DA as i would like to. Although DA is a one of the primary sources for lots of my inspiration, lately - i don't have either the time, or the means to express it fully. Heh, to put it simply - riding a few bumps on a rocky road. Who hasn't?

The Good News! Check out the photos i'll be uploading soon of the EXPA_series (don't ask me for what that abbreviation stands for :P) Nothing too great - but at the same time, i am a newcomer to studio photography :)
